Rene’ Collier was born in Boulder, Colorado, and she’s enjoyed living elsewhere in the states, but she moved back “home” after having her first son.

Some of her earliest childhood memories include visiting the library with her brother and mom and picking out books written by Beverly Clearly and Judy Blume. She had diaries and journals galore, and an imaginary friend, Elaine, she wrote to when she journaled at a young age. She remembers the first time she attempted to write a novel at age nine, and she’s been writing stories, poems and song lyrics ever since. She finds her power, peace, and excitement most easily on a mountain trail, near the ocean, in a coffee shop, snuggled in bed with her laptop, or hanging with her family and friends.

Her marketing degree opened doors to write copy for corporate websites, newsletters, book summaries, and consumer ads, but her real joy comes from writing fiction. She also enjoyed serving on the board of the well-loved Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers as their Communications Officer.

Her short story, The Right Kind of Kick, can be found in the Chicken Soup series, and she just finished her debut novel, Miserably Happy, which placed second at the Pikes Peak Writers Conference.

She enjoys writing non-fiction, too, and and she maintains a non-fiction blog on the side, for the joy of it.

Currently, she’s hoping to attract an agent and is delving into her second novel while living with her family in Denver.
